Ever since I can remember I have loved the game of Scrabble....my husband bought me the special edition timber version for my birthday one year - had to paint it!
New commission begins
Just about to start a new commission for a client......another large scale one! Should be fun once I get through the nitty gritty of the planning process and into painting. This client also bought one of my Mahjong paintings at the same time - what more could you ask for?! Feeling very grateful :)

Clayton Utz Art Award
In September 2014 I was selected for the Clayton Utz Art Award (previously called the Launch Award) featuring my painting 'Mahjong Tiles 1'. The exhibition will be hung in the Riperean Plaza in Brisbane City until September 2015 viewing is by appointment only.
2014 Lethbridge 10 000
I once again was selected for the Lethbridge 10 000 Art Award in 2014 with my painting 'The Bubble'. It was a fabulous exhibition and I was awarded not a commended for Originality but also the "People's Choice Award". The painting is of my daughter a couple of years ago - it was really a pleasure to paint. It created a lot of attention too and was advertised in numerous newspapers and online advertising.
Lethbridge 10 000 Art Award
Selected as a finalist in the Lethbridge 10 000 for 2010 (inaugural year for the award) with my painting 'Game of the Sparrow 2' Oil on canvas. I was awarded a 'Highly commended' in the Skill category.
Redlands Art Award
I was selected as a finalist in the Redlands Art Award for 2008 for one of first paintings in the Mahjong series.
Kings College Commission 2
In 2010 I was commissioned by Kings College a second time to complete a sporting memorabilia painting of a specific Rugby match winning try scene. The commission was then to be auctioned as a fundraiser at the Centenary Ball for the college. It was later donated back to the college.
Kings College Commissions
I was commissioned in late 2010 to complete 3 of 6 portraits of previous Masters of Kings College at the University of Queensland. As you can see from the photos, the references I had were a bit tricky to work with but nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was the first time I had completed any posthumous portraits - for the one portrait that was not posthumous I had the pleasure of meeting the man himself whilst completing a former rendition of him. The black and white posthumous portrait I completed after having a wonderful meeting with his son (who incidently looked a lot like his father). I used the opportunity to gain some insight into the skin colouring of his father and to get some idea of his father's personality (in the hope of capturing some of his spirit in the painting)
The 3 portraits were then unveiled at the yearly Enrolment Dinner and are now hanging in the College's dining hall.
Exhibition 2010
My first gallery exhibition was held in 2010 at the Martin Gallery in Nundah, Brisbane. I was featured with the gallery owner Pete Martin in the local paper Northside Chronicle.
